Matt Dannenberg

Matt is an environmental cheerleader from Milwaukee. He literally was a college cheerleader for the Badgers and now applies his spirit and energy as Field Director at Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. Matt is tribal member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Since a taconite iron ore mine threatened his tribe in 2011, Matt has reconnected to his tribal community and is driven to build leadership within Indian Country to protect natural resources and culture. Matt directs the statewide Native Vote program, is an adjunct trainer with Wellstone Action, and served on the board of the Democratic Leadership Institute (DLI) training progressives in Wisconsin. He earned a B.A. in political science and environmental studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
