Nneka was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI to two incredible parents who taught her the value of faith, education, community, and justice. From the social justice catholic teachings of her upbringing to her application of the same throughout her life, Nneka discovered her voice at a young age. As an organizer Nneka works to mobilize youth of color in an effort to secure our collective liberation.
Nneka earned her bachelor’s of science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. After graduation she worked as a field organizer for United Council of UW Students (UC). In 2013 was hired as the Executive Director of UC and served in that capacity until 2016. During her tenure, Nneka embarked on a journey to engage youth around the state amplifying their voices in the state legislature and university system administration. She now serves on the Board of Directors for United Council. Currently, Nneka attends the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX in pursuit of her Juris Doctorate. Following law school, Nneka hopes to implement changes that will make legal representation more accessible to communities of color.
