Spend a year in the Wild! The Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) is a youth organizing school intentionally designed to support young people in visioning, drafting, and executing strategic campaigns they feel motivated to work on, which address urgent challenges within their community, campus, or school.
Over the academic year, youth leaders come through this school and leave with a new disciplined perspective of organizing as a craft while working to achieve change. In as much as it is a learning space it is a growing and doing space where organizing practices are developed and youth explore the mindset necessary to build sustainable movements—infusing mindfulness, resilience, and loving practices into the space we will grow a new network of youth organizers across the country.
By using an adaptation of Marshall Ganz’s People, Power, Change organizing framework curated for young people, YEP develops youth organizers enabling them to contribute to the expansion of a robust youth movement. Through this school, we will engage youth organizers passionate about shifting power to overcome challenges they’re facing right now.
