Youth Empowerment Project – Fall Online Series
November 13, 2022 - November 21, 2022
Young people are encouraged to attend this interactive series of online workshops to be introduced to the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) and each other, discover the personal stories and issues that call them to act, and enable them to recruit a team of fellow youth to launch a campaign within the upcoming spring semester. This will be a diverse learning space centering youth voices and the power of organizing in achieving the changes they want!
YEP is a youth organizing school that supports young people in visioning, drafting, and executing the strategic campaigns they feel motivated to work on, addressing urgent challenges within their community, campus, or school. This online series is an important step as we look towards the upcoming Winter Summit (details TBA). Here’s what you need to know…
Time Commitment: The series consists of three 2-hour long sessions, and will run twice. Participants should pick either series and commit to attending all three sessions within it.
Series Dates (Registration Deadline: Friday, November 9th):
Homework: Following each session, participants will be asked to apply the new learnings from the session by building new relationships and recruiting new people to a leadership team with you. Participants will be expected to report back on progress and can receive coaching support for outside-of-session work. There is also a brief reading on the mindset that is required prior to attending the first session.
Training Team: Top trainers Nneka Akubeze, Kortni Malone, Dan Grandone, and others will lead sessions and provide small group coaching (click here for trainer bios).
Cost: The cost to enroll in either series is flexible depending on the participants’ needs.
